North in the VFL
North supporters who can't make the trip to Hobart will still have the chance to see some of the club's up and comers in action.
North Ballarat aligned players Aaron Black, Tom Curran, Brad McKenzie, Cam Richardson, Max Warren and Mitch Wilkins will be looking for redemption after a 52-point loss to Collingwood last week.
The return of ruckman Ben Mabon, who was sidelined with illness last week, will be crucial for the Roosters, as his absence forced forwards Black and Curran out of position.
Brad McKenzie was one of the stand-outs last week, collecting 27 possessions against experienced forward Alan Didak. Black was another brave player with 23 disposals, 10 marks and 13 hit-outs in his forward/ruck role. McKenzie and Black will be pushing their case for senior selection and another strong performance from the pair will be important.
The Roosters could be without the help of Taylor Garner who has been named as an emergency in the Kangaroos' squad of 25 but will gain experience in Ben Jacobs who could pull on the North Ballarat guernsey for the first time.
Werribee has another night match under lights this Saturday at Avalon Airport Oval and the Tigers are also in need of a win after a narrow four point loss to the Northern Blues.
Mason Wood, Jordan Gysberts, Will Sierakowski, Ayden Kennedy and Luke McDonald will all line up against Collingwood.
Daniel Currie will be fit and firing despite a finger dislocation which limited the 24-year olds impact last round. Currie and Majak Daw could combine again as a ruck/forward duo which was dangerous against Port Melbourne in the opening round.
Levi Greenwood will be looking to put his name back in the mix for senior selection after a heavy tag kept him quiet in last week's loss
The Tigers will be thankful for more AFL experience this week with Kieran Harper possibly donning the yellow and black after he was omitted from the Kangaroos side.
Ben Speight will have to watch from the sidelines for another week as he recovers from the ankle injury he sustained in the 72-point thrashing of Port Melbourne two weeks ago.
Werribee is set for a tough outing against a Collingwood outfit that has recently fielded the likes of Alan Didak, Alex Fasolo and Andrew Krakouer.
