North ruckman Todd Goldstein says the Roos will be highly competitive in 2017, with their sights firmly set on making finals.
The All-Australian ruckman said there had been plenty of buzz and excitement around Arden St in the early stages of pre-season.
“I know I’m here to play finals and to win premierships,” Goldstein told Fox Footy.
“We don’t know exactly what our side looks like yet, but I know whatever we put on the track, we’re going to be competitive and striving for finals.”
While there was plenty of unfounded speculation around Goldstein’s future in this year’s trade period, Goldstein said he never planned to be anywhere other than at North in 2017.
“It was a bit of a weird one,” Golstein said.
“The footy club came out and said they weren’t talking to anyone, I said I wasn’t looking for (a trade), my manager said I wasn’t looking for one. From our side, it was never even an option.
“I’ve always been committed to North and that’s why I signed a three-year contract at the start of the last year. This is where I want to be.”
