Aaron Mullett will make his first appearance of 2014 for North Ballarat on Saturday night at Eureka Stadium.

The left footer will be one of ten North listed players taking part in the VFL practice match at Eureka Stadium, following the Kangaroos’ clash against Carlton.

A shortened game, development coach Ben Dyer explained the changes to NMFC.com.au.

“The game will be four 15 minute quarters with no time on,” Dyer said.

“It was originally supposed to be three 20 minute periods, but they changed it to give the players an extra break.”

Alongside Mullett, Cam Delaney, Tim McGenniss, Trent Dumont, Levi Greenwood, Eric Wallace and Kayne Turner will definitely play with the three AFL emergencies (named on Saturday) to join them.

The North Ballarat/Werribee alignments do not apply for the game, giving McGenniss and Greenwood the chance for valuable game time in unfamiliar colours.

Dyer said there would be no restrictions on the players working their way back from an interrupted pre-season.

“For some of the guys who have spent a bit of time in rehab over summer it’s an opportunity for them to get a bit of game time.”

It leaves Andrew Swallow, Leigh Adams, Nathan Grima, Kieran Harper, Robbie Tarrant, Tom Curran, Majak Daw and Ben Brown as the only players not named in either game. The majority of the inactive players will most likely see NAB Challenge action at some stage against either Hawthorn or Geelong.

It’ll be the fans’ first look at Dumont and also rookie Kayne Turner, someone Dyer singled out.

“Also it’s the first chance to try and put into place the stuff we’ve been working on in pre-season as well.”

Entry is free for those who attend the AFL game earlier in the day, with the first bounce estimated to be at around 7:15pm EDT.
