Robbie Tarrant’s stocks are rising and he has fast become one of the game’s most prolific defenders.
Against Hawthorn, the 27-year-old was awarded the most votes by Brad Scott and Alastair Clarkson in the AFL Coaches Association awards.
Tarrant spent much of his time on dangerous forward Jack Gunston, keeping the Hawk goalless and to only six possessions. His efforts were fittingly rewarded with a best on ground nine votes.
Daniel Wells was also instrumental on the night and was given four votes after a 30 disposal game which included 15 contested possessions, nine clearances and seven inside 50s.
Forward Mason Wood took home one vote after 20 touches and two goals.
