The recruiters say
"Flynn’s a player we really rated as a bottom-age player last year.
"He missed the whole of 2019 (ACL injury), but we rated him so highly last year, we felt he’s got a lot of upside and by missing this year we were able to pick him with that selection." - Mark Finnigan, national recruiting manager
About
AFL.com.au: Medium midfielder who had his year stunted before it started when he injured his ACL in a preseason camp with Vic Country. He showed his distinctive potential when he played for team Bartel in the 2018 NAB AFL All-Stars Futures game at the MCG last season with his use of the ball on right and left foot a real asset. He is very clean with his hands and was previously a soccer star, captaining Victoria at underaged level before switching back to AFL as his preferred code. He is making a full recovery from injury and is on track to resume for a full preseason.
What they're saying
Foxsports.com.au: Like a number of prospects, Perez’s draft year was cut short after rupturing his ACL during pre-season training for Vic Country. But his name firmly remains in consideration for AFL clubs, given his good underage season where he averaged 16.5 disposals for Bendigo in 2018. His speed and poise with ball in hand make him an appealing option for clubs on the outside.
