North Melbourne will be doing it for the kids when Good Friday Football hits town in 2017, with $5 from every ticket sold to the match to be donated to the Good Friday Appeal.

The historic clash will be known as the ‘Kick for the Kids’, as North take on the Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium on Friday, April 14.

Tickets go on sale through Ticketmaster to the general public at 9am on Wednesday, March 8.

“We are honoured to be involved in such an historic match,” North Managing Director and CEO Carl Dilena told the Herald Sun.

“Importantly, $5 from every adult ticket purchased and $10 from family tickets will go directly to the Appeal. The linking of the game with the Appeal is all about the kids and our goal is to raise as much money as possible for the Royal Children’s Hospital.”

A host of initiatives will take place in the lead up to the game, with the Roos, Dogs, AFL, Etihad Stadium and Good Friday Appeal all joining forces to raise funds for the yearly appeal.

North members will be able to donate at events in the lead up to the match, including this weekend’s Family Day.

Anyone wishing to donate more than the $5 can also do so when securing their seats to the match.

“Those purchasing tickets through Ticketmaster will also be given the option to add in a further donation when they are completing their payment.”

Dilena said he was hoping for a packed house at Etihad Stadium.

“As the only match on Good Friday, we want to see a packed Etihad Stadium and have no doubt that fans from all clubs will get behind this game, particularly given the worthy cause,” Dilena added.

“We have been working closely with the Good Friday Appeal, the AFL and Etihad Stadium on a range of initiatives to help drive fundraising efforts in the lead up to this match. There are some great plans in the pipeline and we look forward to driving a record outcome for the Appeal.”

The Round 4, North Melbourne v Western Bulldogs match will support the 2017 Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal, with $5 from each general public adult and family adult ticket purchased to be donated by the fundraiser to the Good Friday Appeal.
