North Melbourne rookies Will Fordham and Matt Taylor have not been offered new contracts by the club.
Fordham played for the Sandringham Dragons in 2014 and drew more attention as the year went on. Averaging almost 26 possessions a game in the second half of the season, the midfielder impressed with his running ability.
Rated for his aerobic ability, he received compliments for his disposal by foot, but was overlooked in the National Draft.
North selected the youngster with its second pick in the Rookie Draft.
Taylor came to Arden Street as a highly-rated youngster in defence and through the midfield.
He played Perth in the WAFL competition in 2016, and earned a reputation for his strong kicking skills (86 per cent by foot) and drive from the back half.
Taylor boasts great speed (2.93 seconds for 20 metres at State Combine) and posted outstanding results in the vertical jump, repeat sprints and beep test at the Combine.
“It’s always a tough time of the year advising certain players that their contracts won’t be renewed and the past two days have been no different,” GM Football Cameron Joyce said.
“Will and Matt have taken good strides and shown great development in their time with us and I sincerely hope their football journeys continue for many years to come.
“We wish them some individual and team success in the not too distant future regardless of where they end up playing next.”
