Two weeks on the sidelines didn’t stop Jarrad Waite from a returning with a bang on Saturday against the Bombers.
The key-forward combined with Ben Brown to have a huge impact, booting four goals from 14 disposals and 8 marks, but it was one play in particular that stunned the crowd.
Midway through the final quarter, Waite gathered deep in attack. With multiple Essendon opponents piling on the pressure, he sold the dummy not once, but twice and kicked a brilliant goal.
Waite’s effort has seen him nominated for the AFL Goal of the Year.
