After a bitterly disappointing outing against Collingwood, North will go into Sunday's game against Hawthorn in Launceston with a big point to prove.
Player availability will be tricky this week, with several big name players on the sidelines but it could be another chance for a young up-and-comer to fill the void and make his mark.
NMFC.com.au looks at those in the mix for a call-up.
Forwards
All eyes will be on the health of Ben Brown as he recovers from a concussion but if he's ruled out, Lachlan Hansen was the standout for Werribee booting three goals in the first half and handing off a few others to teammates in better positions. Although the Tigers lost to the Pies, Hansen could hold his head high and showed plenty in attack.
Cam Zurhaar was the carry-over emergency for the AFL but will still be in contention, while Kayne Turner could be a surprise return if the match committee opts to throw him straight back into the senior side. The live-wire small hasn't played since Round 13 after injuring his knee.
Mason Wood, Jarrad Waite, Corey Wagner and Majak Daw are all out injured.
Midfielders
Without a dominant ruckman to work with, Jed Anderson managed to put together another solid game as a mid/forward with his attack on the football and energy in the contest.
Ben Jacobs has been ruled out for the season.
Defenders
Ben McKay doesn't normally feature in this category, but playing back is part of his development in the VFL and he acquitted himself quite well against the likes of Lachlan Keeffe and Jesse White deep in defence. If he continues his steady rate of progress, he may just sneak in for a debut before the season is over whether it be forward or back.
Jamie Macmillan, Marley Williams, Ed Vickers-Willis, Sam Wright and Mitch Hibberd are all ruled out for the season.
