It was a ‘quiet game’ by his own standards, but Ben Brown still kicked four goals on Saturday to extend his lead at the top of the Coleman Medal tally.
Brown took 4 marks, and kicked his 4 goals from just 8 disposals, despite being heavily restricted by opposite number Tom Jonas, and finding himself outnumbered inside 50.
Coach Brad Scott conceded that it wasn’t Brown’s best performance of 2018, which only highlights his brilliance so far.
"If that's his worst game and he kicks four, we'll take it," Scott said.
"He wasn't at his best today, but he didn't get silver service.”
Kicking 4 goals from a quiet game highlights the potency that Brown now possesses as one of the competition’s leading key-forwards.
His latest haul has him sitting 4 goals clear of Hawthorn’s Luke Breust in the race for the Coleman, who kept pace with Brown with 3 goals of his own against St Kilda.
