North Melbourne has surged past 40,000 members for the fifth consecutive season.

While the club's impressive 7-4 start has been a factor in the milestone, the loyalty of its members can't be underestimated according to managing director & CEO, Carl Dilena.

“North fans are simply unshakable in terms of their support and level of commitment to our club and our cause,” Dilena said.

Encouragingly, a steady take-up of AFLW memberships and increase in the social club category has contributed to the overall figure of 40,179.

“Our fans are everything to us and without a doubt, they shape the future of our great club,” Dilena added.

“It’s an exciting time for us with some massive opportunities on the horizon on and off the field."

Already this year, North has introduced a stand alone VFL side, with an AFLW side to follow in 2019. The club will soon begin construction of a multi-million dollar extension of its Arden St headquarters to cater for the additional teams and staff.

“Our club is growing like never before and thanks to our members, we're able to capitalise on these opportunities, increase in size and continually improve.

"We're urging all those that are yet to sign up, to do so, and to show their support of our young and exciting team as we continue to surge in the second half of the year and prove all the doubters wrong."
