North Melbourne’s newest recruits have had their jumper numbers confirmed for 2019, and North Media has taken a look back at the history of each number.
13
Despite the number 21 being available, Jared Polec will take the number 13.
The exciting wingman takes the number from Ryan Clarke, who departed for Sydney in the trade period.
In recent years, the jumper has notably been adorned by fan favourite Leigh Adams, who wore it for six years (2009-2015) and produced some memorable performances.
John Law is the current games holder in the number (217) while Frank Goode leads the way for goals (107).

Jasper Pittard will take the number 17 from Mitch Hibberd.
Hibberd took 17 in 2018, but was unable to register a senior game in it.
Prior, the number was worn by the likes of Aaron Mullet and Nathan Grima.
There is rich history with 17, with club legend Allen Aylett playing 220 games and 311 goals in it.
Legendary coach Denis Pagan also wore the 17 in 97 appearances for the club in the 70s.

21
Former Melbourne midfielder Dom Tyson will wear 21.
In recent years, 21 has acted as a temporary number for players on the current list, with Luke McDonald and Jy Simpkin beginning their careers in it, before adopting 11 and 12 respectively.
Corey Jones holds the record for both games and goals in 21, with his 216 goals coming in 157 appearances.

43
Aaron Hall's 43 may not have the history of some other numbers, but it does hold a special record.
The last player to wear 43 was Sam Gibson, and he went on to play a North record of 130 games consecutively from his debut; a feat Hall would no doubt love to replicate.
