As North Melbourne launches its campaign to enshrine itself at Arden Street forever, we thought it only appropriate to celebrate our fans’ memories of the club’s amazing home.
Whether it be the Gasometer that cast its towering shadow over the ground for decades, the stampeding elephant in 1978, or the day the 1996 premiership players paraded the only gold cup to celebrate the league’s centenary season, everyone has their own recollections of Arden Street.
We'd love for you to share your memories; head to our social channels on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and use the hashtag #ArdenForever and we'll post a selection below ahead of the 24-hour fundraiser on Thursday.
We have a vision – to enshrine ourselves at Arden Street forever by positioning ourselves at the heart of a new commercial and residential suburb.
The redevelopment of our headquarters in to a state-of-the-art high performance and game day venue is the first important step in making this a reality.
North Melbourne Football Club is expanding and will include our four teams including AFL, AFLW, VFL and VFLW. Importantly, we will be bringing football back to Arden Street. The opportunity for our football club is substantial with many benefits to be realised for years to come. We need the support of our amazing North Melbourne community to make our vision a reality.
The campaign will run for 24 hours only – from 12pm Thursday, August 23 - 12pm Friday, August 24.
During the 24-hour period, North Melbourne are requesting their supporters to support the campaign by making a donation towards the future of the football club.
Each dollar donated will be matched by four. For example, when you give $50, the club will receive $200.
