After one of the club’s most impressive wins in history, it’s hard to imagine wholesale changes to the North lineup. But suspension and injury have opened the door for at least two call-ups.
Jarrad Waite and Corey Wagner will miss and there are plenty of replacement options following a solid win in the VFL.
NMFC.com.au looks at those in the mix for a call-up.
Forwards
Majak Daw is listed as a test and could make his return at either AFL or VFL level this week.
Nick Larkey has emerged as a potential wildcard selection after another strong performance for Werribee, where he kicked four goals.
Braydon Preuss also did everything right in the VFL, and looms as another option to float between attack and the ruck.
With Wagner out, Jy Simpkin will be hoping to push his case on the track after being managed last week.
Taylor Garner has a chance to prove his fitness, having missed the clash against the Crows with hamstring tightness.
Midfielders
Declan Mountford starred for Werribee and will no doubt get another opportunity in the AFL at some stage soon. Andrew Swallow missed Sunday’s match due to illness, but could add some extra toughness around the ball against the experienced Swans.
Defenders
Aaron Mullett could be back from a hand injury, while Daniel Nielson and Sam Durdin were both terrific for Werribee, perhaps putting them in the selection frame in the coming weeks.
