Geelong star Gary Ablett is confident his team can turn its form around against North Melbourne, despite a disappointing loss last weekend.
A 34-point defeat at the hands of Fremantle saw the Cats continue their loss-win sequence over the past seven rounds, but a return to GMHBA Stadium will no doubt give them belief.
“We’re confident if we can make a few tweaks to our game plan and our structures, that we can get back to playing the level of football we were playing earlier in the year,” Ablett told K rock.
“The last five or six weeks have been a bit disappointing, and we know that; especially the performance on the weekend. We weren’t good enough in many areas of the game, and Fremantle came out to play.
“We’re confident we can fix it up. There’s still three weeks to go, and we need to make sure we play some really good footy and hopefully get ready for a big finals series.
“We’re training hard during the week, we’re working hard on the areas that we need to fix up, and that’ll start this weekend against North.”
All eyes will be on who goes to the star Cat, with Kayne Turner getting the job last time around.
While Ablett booted four goals in the Round 8 clash, it was only very late in the game he was able to have an impact in a 24-point win.
“My body’s feeling pretty good at the moment,” he said.
“I want to make sure I finished the season off strongly and that I can play my part in helping the team to get back to playing the type of football I know we can play.”
