Forwards Nathan Hrovat and Curtis Taylor have done their chances of a JLT 2 call-up no harm, impressing for North Melbourne’s VFL team last weekend.

The VFL side played Sandringham at RSEA park on Saturday morning in a practice match, with Hrovat and Taylor among the best on ground.

“Hrovat was very good,” development coach Gavin Brown told North Media.

“His forward pressure, tackling pressure and ability to get up the ground was great.

“He played as that mid-forward, and really played the way that we wanted him to play,

“He used the ball really well and was quite dynamic.”

The 24-year-old collected a team-high 22 disposals, laid six tackles and committed as many pressure acts.

Draftee Curtis Taylor has continued his impressive pre-season form, displaying his skills and tricks against genuine opposition.

“He was good, he kicked three goals, 3.3 actually,” Brown said.

“He looked really good, he was really lively down there.

“He did some really terrific stuff with and without the ball, he’s got some real x-factor about him.”

The 26-man squad for Saturday’s match in Alberton will be named on Thursday night.
