With North's VFL outfit getting its first win of the season and one change required with Sam Durdin suspended, plenty of players have put their hand up for selection.

North Media takes a look at those in the mix for Round 9.

Defenders

Declan Watson impressed after returning from illness, keeping Geelong big-man Darcy Fort quiet.

Scott Thompson was named in the Roos' AFL 22 for the clash against the Cats, but was ruled out on Saturday. The veteran will need to pass a fitness test this week in order to be deemed eligible to play against the Swans in Hobart.

Luke McDonald has missed the last two weeks with a knee injury, and is a chance to return should he get through training.

Marley Williams missed due to personal reasons, and is likely to return.

Midfielders

Aaron Hall put in a strong performance with 33 disposals, 8 tackles and 2 goals.

Luke Davies-Uniacke wasn't used as an AFL emergency and made his way to Avalon Airport Oval where he put up some solid numbers with 23 disposals and 5 tackles.

Paul Ahern has been in good form since going back to the VFL, and he had another 29 touches.

Kyron Hayden, another inactive AFL emergency, continued his strong form with 19 touches and 7 tackles; an area he leads the competition in.

Tom Campbell has been dominant in the ruck, and he impressed again with 24 disposals and 31 hit-outs.

Forwards

Tristan Xerri has been a revelation in front of goal and finished his day with 3 goals and 10 marks.

Nathan Hrovat was in superb form, kicking a game-high six goals.
