The Kangaroos weren’t the only ones bouncing with joy over the school holidays.
35 youngsters between the ages of 8 and 12 enjoyed an experience like no other, visiting the Werribee Open Range Zoo as part of The Huddle’s 'Huddle Up' program.
Leaving from Arden St, the kids boarded the bus full of nervous excitement, but the jitters quickly turned to panda-monium, with the smiles telling the story as zebras, rhinos, gorillas and other exotic wildlife put on a show.
“My favourite part of the day was when we got to take a safari drive through the zoo and see the giraffes up close,” one participant said.
“It was a bit scary because I thought they might stick their heads right in the window, but so cool!”
By lunch the group had bonded, and everyone was chatting and laughing on the lawn as they snacked on sandwiches to re-fuel for the remainder of the day.
Next on the program, a visit to the meerkats and emus, before the kids jumped on the bus for the trip back, exhausted, but with memories that will last forever.
