Speaking at the civic reception ahead of the club's fifth Community Camp in the city, CEO Carl Dilena spoke of the importance of the club's unique relationship with the region.
"We are very proud of our partnership with Ballarat," Dilena said.
"The partnership has evolved and expanded significantly, through a diverse range of community programs and even the more recent push in 2012 to promote Ballarat as the next home for AFL football."
North has played several pre-season games at Eureka Stadium in recent seasons, and will continue to work with the AFL to ensure Ballarat has opportunity to host fixtures in the future.
A NAB Cup game would have been fixtured in the city this year but renovations at the arena prevented it from happening.
A Consortium to develop a Major Sports and Entertainment Precinct in the region was formed in 2012.
"We are doing everything we can to push for football in Ballarat. It's now up to the local community to get behind that.
"...it's only with people power that this thing will come to fruition."
Players and staff will visit around 20 schools, football clubs and community organisations throughout the two-day Community Camp, which culminates with North Melbourne's first intraclub match on Tuesday evening.

The defender visited a school in Skipton with Sam Gibson and Will Sierakowski, before running skills with a junior and senior team at Buninyong Football Club with Kieran Harper, Scott McMahon and Mason Wood.
