They say ‘home is where the heart is’, and for Michael Firrito a return to Arden Street was a natural fit.
“It’s the start of a new era under Rhyce (Shaw), and it’s exciting times,” he told North Media.
The 275-gamer has taken on the role as academy coach, and joins a new-look panel alongside Jared Rivers, Jade Rawlings and Heath Scotland.
But there’s some familiar faces too, with former teammates Leigh Adams and Brent Harvey back to mentor the Roos’ up-and-coming stars.
“It’s great to be back. It’s somewhere I’ve spent a lot of time … coming through as a kid when you’re 18 or 19 and you grow up right through,” Firrito added.
“It feels like home and hopefully I can help in any way I can.”
