Port Adelaide’s Jackson Trengove will miss the Hobart clash with North Melbourne with a foot injury.

The defender will undergo surgery on a fractured metatarsal sustained in Saturday night’s five-point win against the Eagles.

“After an incident in the game we thought it was only a minor foot issue, but given that he was unable to continue playing we had it investigated and found a metatarsal fracture,” the Power's high performance manager Darren Burgess said.

“He’s having surgery today and we’ll have more clarity on length of time he’ll be out after that.”

It is anticipated that he will be unable to play for an extended period of time.

Meanwhile, Jasper Pittard will be assessed during the week as he aims to overcome a strained hip flexor.

Pittard was a late withdrawal from the clash against the Eagles.

“We expected him to get up to play on Saturday and with a bit more research we’ve found that he’s got a really minor strain,” Port Adelaide director of coaching and strategy Alan Richardson said.

“He’s still a chance to play this week though and we’ll be assessing him as part of our normal processes.”
