After being re-invented as a midfielder last year under Dean Laidley, Harding would have hoped for a big season in 2010.

He had a solid start in the NAB Cup and was unlucky to be dropped after North Melbourne's round one loss to Port Adelaide.

Harding only spent a week at VFL level before earning a recall, however he had minimal impact against the Eagles and Swans and was again on the outer with North’s selectors.

The 29 year-old found some form against the Crows in a more attacking role, then had a solid performance in Perth later in the year.

Harding was clearly out of favour though and wasn't seen again until round 17. He finished the season strongly with good performances against Fremantle and St Kilda, but a rib injury in the final game ended a disappointing year by his standards.

However he was able to regain his fitness and help North Ballarat win its third consecutive premiership in the VFL, but a hamstring injury suffered early in the match may mean an interrupted pre-season heading into 2011.

AFL.com.au’s Steve Lavell says: Touch and go as to whether he deserves a new contract. Unique in that he can play in the forward line, midfield or defence, but struggled to reproduce his form of the last two seasons. Spent time in the VFL.

I definately rate Turtle. He should be retained as he is only just coming good now.

WE LOVE U TURTLE :)

time to say 'goodbye', i feel. Leigh is an experienced player but does not always demonstrate this. he tends to show a lack of composure, resulting in poor decision-making and/or disposal. This means he is of little more value than a young player so why not give another youngster a go. We would be better served by giving Myles Sewell or Clifton a go from North Ballarat. Let's not miss out like we did with Barlow and Podsiadly who were pinched right from under our noses.
