One is the loneliest
It's come to the time of year where playing numbers are up for grabs and the prized number one is available.
The departure of Hamish McIntosh has freed it up for the first time in a decade and while the man himself is keen for Ben Mabon to take it over, there are many players who could be wearing it in 2013.
Surprisingly for such a high profile number, the number one hasn't been worn consistently by great players before McIntosh. You have to go back to the late 1940's to find two consecutive number one's who played more than 100 games with Les Foote and Kevin Dynon .

Numbers 5, 14, 26, 27, 32, 33 37 and 39 are also available inside the first 40. Considering Brad McKenzie, North's first pick in the 2011 National Draft, grabbed number two, this year's first pick will be odds on to take a low number.
