The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos will award their Club Champion Award on Thursday night following a season that saw them claim the 2024 premiership.

The Kangaroos became the first AFLW expansion side to hoist the cup after making their way through the campaign without losing a single match. The only blemish being a Week 2 draw with Geelong at Arden Street Oval.

A historic night Grand Final night saw Darren Crocker's group thwart Brisbane across all lines, triumphing 6.3 (39) to 1.3 (9) in a powerful display under the lights of Ikon Park.

Up for grabs during the club's night of nights will be the Best Clubwoman, Shinboner of the Year, Best Young Player, and Mazda Next Level Performer, alongside the Club Champion award.

Will Jasmine Garner join Brent Harvey as the only other Kangaroo to claim five club best and fairest awards, or will Ash Riddell turn her stellar season into a second Club Champion medal?

Star forward Alice O'Loughlin will be right in the mix after an All-Australian year, as will Sarah Wright, who played a pivotal role in the stingy North Melbourne defence.

The Voting

The senior coach rates each player out of 10 points, and the assistant coaches provide a combined rating for each player out of 10, making 20 points the maximum votes a player can receive in any game across the season, including finals.

The Contenders

In number order

Alice O'Loughlin

It was the best season yet for the light-footed forward.

O'Loughlin kicked 14 goals in the home and away season – including a bag of four against Gold Coast – to secure a maiden All-Australian blazer, before dominating in the finals with five goals from three appearances.

She was the most prolific forward in the Grand Final, kicking three majors, with two of those coming in the opening quarter.

Ash Riddell

Riddell added a fourth All-Australian blazer to her growing collection in 2024, on the back of a season that saw her average 29.3 disposals and 6.6 tackles per game.

The No.7 polled a team-high 20 votes in the League Best and Fairest award, and thanks to the rise of fellow midfielder Ruby Tripodi, she became more damaging on the outside, finishing with a season-best five goals.

Sarah Wright

A career-best year for Wright saw the defender earn a maiden All-Australian squad nomination, having played her role in North Melbourne's stingy backline terrifically.

The No.17 averaged 5.8 intercepts per game to end with a team-high total 81, and was impassable during the Grand Final when she gathered 20 touches, seven marks and seven intercepts.

Ruby Tripodi

It's been a transformative year for Tripodi who locked down a spot in the Kangaroos' stacked onball brigade as a resilient inside midfielder.

After missing the finals campaign in 2023, Tripodi went onto play every game in 2024, averaging 13.4 disposals, 6.6 tackles and 3.8 clearances.

Mia King

It was another solid season for the tough onballer, who continued to show her strengths as part of the team's talented midfield.

As she often has during her time as a Kangaroo, King set the standard when it came to tackling, averaging 9.3 per game to finish second overall in the competition with 130.

The 23-year-old was crucial in the qualifying final victory over Adelaide, when she won nine clearances, and in an early stretch from Week 2 to Week 4, had single game tallies of 13, 12 and 17 for tackles.

Jasmine Garner

Garner was offering masterclasses every week across a season that saw her deservedly cap it off with the best on ground medal for her monstrous performance in the Grand Final (35 disposals, 13 tackles, 10 clearances).

Averaging 26.7 touches, 7.6 tackles, 6.3 clearances and a goal per outing, Garner completely dismantled oppositions throughout North Melbourne's 14-game campaign, earning a fifth All-Australian selection and the captaincy of the team for a second time in her career.

Kate Shierlaw

After settling into the forward line a year ago, Shierlaw exploded in her second season as a Kangaroo, earning an All-Australian squad nomination while slotting 18 goals from 12 games.

The experienced forward showcased her class against Melbourne in Week 3, dominating with a five-goal haul. She was equally pivotal in the Week 9 clash with Adelaide, collecting 18 disposals and kicking two crucial goals in the Roos' gutsy eight-point triumph at Norwood Oval.
