North Melbourne begins its AFLW finals campaign this weekend having become only the second team to complete an unbeaten home-and-away season.

As the Kangaroos prepare to renew their quest for a maiden flag, here's a look at the stars who dominated the League's stat charts during the 2024 home and away season.

Leather poisoning

Ash Riddell led the way when it came to getting hands on the footy this season.

The ball-magnet was No.1 across the league for uncontested possessions, with 166. She was also No.2 for overall disposals with 319 at 29 per game, behind Adelaide’s Ebony Marinoff (334).

Riddell's partner in crime Jas Garner was again prolific, finishing No.6 for total disposals with 284.

Clean below the knees

Forward Bella Eddey enjoyed a career-best season, topping the League with 28 groundball-gets inside forward 50 - a stat the Kangaroos dominated this season.

Garner was No.2 for the same stat with 26 groundballgets. Alice O'Loughlin ranked equal third with 25, while Tahlia Randall (22) and Vikki Wall (21) also finished in the top 11, underlining the forward group's relentless effort in hunting the ball.

Centre bounce connoisseur

Garner won a massive 21 centre clearances, ranking equal first for the stat alongside Gold Coast's Charlie Rowbottom.

Garner was also ranked No.7 for total clearances, finishing the season with 60.

Sharpshooting

A personal best tally of 15 goals shot Kate Shierlaw up to No.4 on the League goalkicking table.

Alice O'Loughlin's own career-best return of 14 goals saw her share fifth place, while Garner kicked 13 to finish equal 10th.

On a platter

After kicking a career-high tally of 21 goals from 13 appearances in 2023, Randall turned creator in 2024, racking up an AFLW-high 11 goal assists.

Three spots behind her was Taylah Gatt who set up eight majors, with Eddey and Riddell each recording seven to rank equal fifth.

Driving the most scores from midfield was the dangerous duo of Riddell and Garner who finished the season second and equal third respectively for total score involvements (58 and 56).

Defence is King

It's no surprise that Mia King led the way for North Melbourne in the tackle count.

The tough onballer registered 104 tackles for the year - with highs of 17 against Port Adelaide and 13 against Geelong - putting her No.2 in the League-wide standings behind Marinoff (136).

King was also in the upper echelon for pressure acts, recording 255 to rank fifth in the League.

As for team defence, the Roos conceded the least number of points across the comp, letting through just 208 over 11 games at an average of 18.9.
