Irish Kangaroos Vikki Wall (l) and Blaithin Bogue

The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos have been boosted by the arrivals of Irish recruits Vikki Wall and Blaithin Bogue as they continue their preparations for Round 1.

Star forward Wall is no stranger to Arden St, having quickly become one of the Kangaroos' most important players when she joined the side midway through 2022.

However she did not return to Australia for the Roos' 2023 campaign following her Gaelic commitments with Meath, instead opting to pursue an Olympic opportunity with Ireland's rugby sevens squad.

Wall ultimately missed out on the Irish squad bound for Paris, and Kangaroos captain Emma Kearney said the team was delighted to welcome back the 26-year-old.

"We saw a couple of seasons ago the excitement that she can bring in our forward half and how strong and powerful she is," Kearney told NMFC Media.

"Once she gets used to our system again, it'll be great to have her introduced back into our side."

Bogue, 23, joins her new teammates after starring for Gaelic club Fermanagh in their All-Ireland Junior Final triumph over Louth at Croke Park earlier this month.

"Blaithin has strong athletic traits that will translate well to AFLW and stood out across her performances for Fermanagh, with her ability to set up play in the forward half and consistently hit the scoreboard," North Melbourne AFLW list manager Flynn Loft said.

The Kangaroos launch their 2024 AFLW premiership campaign with a Grand Final rematch against Brisbane on September 1.
