One Telstra AFL Rising Star contender could replace a former winner in North Melbourne's team to play the Western Bulldogs on Sunday.

Last season's winner Harry Sheezel will miss the Marvel Stadium clash due to an ankle injury, as senior coach Alastair Clarkson confirmed earlier on Thursday.

George Wardlaw, who earned his second Rising Star nomination in Round 2 this season, is a potential inclusion after being named in the Kangaroos' extended squad. He missed last week's game against West Coast due to a concussion.

Winger Dylan Stephens and defenders Zac Fisher and Kallan Dawson also come into the squad, and could be in line to play when North Melbourne's team is finalised on Friday afternoon at 5pm AEST.

Bailey Scott is set to make his 100th appearance for the Roos, who will be looking to hit back from last week's disappointing loss to the Eagles.
