Winger Dylan Stephens has been ruled out ahead of Saturday's clash against West Coast, having sustained an ankle injury against Richmond in Hobart.

The No.15 was subbed out of the contest at Marvel Stadium but should be available for selection heading into the Roos' final two home-and-away season games.

"Dylan had an incident in the second quarter where he suffered an ankle sprain which prevented him from displaying his running power," North Melbourne head of performance Kevin White told NMFC Media.

Defender Zac Fisher will need to prove his fitness if he's to join his teammates on the plane to Hobart.

He's been dealing a plantar fascia issue that has kept him out of action for the past two weeks.

"Zac has had a couple of weeks of management and de-loading his plantar fascia to improve his symptoms and function," White said.

"This week will see him back in group skills and we will assess his function at a high level during main training to assess his availability for this week."

Curtis Taylor (calf) and Bigoa Nyuon (shoulder) have both been ruled out for the rest of the campaign, having picked up injuries in the VFL in the past month, with Nyuon set to go under the knife next week.

"Curtis has been slow to progress through his early phase-loading and is now an unrealistic chance to return to play within the next three weeks," White said.

"We will continue to progress his rehab as his symptoms improve and set him up to run and get into high levels of strength and conditioning going into the off-season.

"After consultation with specialists this week, 'Biggie' (Nyuon) will go in for shoulder surgery next Monday.

"The assessment of the dislocation injury was that it required stabilisation as soon as possible."

As reported on Monday, young gun George Wardlaw will miss another week due to concussion, while Griffin Logue has suffered another blow, with a wrist injury ending his 2024 campaign.

"George is currently working through graded non-contact footy training and will have a high-loading footy conditioning session at the weekend to prepare for full training next week," White said.

"Scans revealed a wrist ligament rupture for Griff and a consultation with the specialist advised the need for wrist reconstruction surgery, effectively ending his season.

"This was disappointing given the work to return to play put in by Griff post-knee surgery, but he has taken great confidence from his two performances at AFL level moving into the off-season."

Ruckman Hamish Free is still in non-contact training protocols while the club runs further external assessments and receives advice around his return-to-play clearance.
