Harvey is clearly North Melbourne’s best ever selection.
In a Draft where three 200-plus game players came after pick 45, Harvey at 47 has clearly turned out to be the best player of that year’s youngsters.

Recruited from the Northern Knights at 172cm, Harvey was compared to a jockey by some of the senior players on his arrival. His first year was slow from a senior perspective, only playing one game. However he was a big part of the reserves’ premiership team.
From 1997 Harvey started to become a regular member of the senior side. Initially a crumbing forward, over the years he spent more time in the midfield but was still able to hit the scoreboard regularly. He was a part of the 1999 premiership side and began to build a reputation as one of the best players in the league.
Harvey finished 2013 in the top 10 for all-time games played in the AFL. Remarkably durable for a man now 35, he’ll most likely set a games record for North not to be touched for years to come.
