Charlie Comben will remain a Roo until at least the end of 2027 after signing a two-year contract extension.
Comben arrived at Arden Street via pick No.31 in the 2019 AFL Draft as a promising key forward.
While injuries restricted him to only nine senior games and five goals across his first four seasons at the club, the 22-year-old has enjoyed a breakout season in 2024 in a new role down back.
After 342 days sidelined with a serious leg injury, Comben played his return game in Round 4, which saw a switch to defence. He has since added a further 11 games to his tally and impressed with his attack on the contest, ranking elite for both intercept and contested marks.
North Melbourne head of football talent Brady Rawlings said the club was delighted to lock in Comben.
“We’re excited to have Charlie recommit to the club for a further two seasons,” Rawlings said.
“He is as competitive and resilient as they come and has a lot of potential with his aerial strength.
“The way he has been able to transition into defence has been a real positive for the club this season, and we look forward to watching him take his game even further over the next few years.”
Comben is the fifth Roo to extend their stay at Arden Street this year, joining Harry Sheezel (2030), Tristan Xerri (2029), Tom Powell (2026) and Kallan Dawson (2025).
