Gold Coast Suns coach Stuart Dew is expecting a vastly different contest this weekend to the Round 1 clash in Cairns, in which the Suns downed North Melbourne by 16-points.
“It’s pretty much the opposite conditions to last time we faced North (Melbourne),” Dew told the media on Thursday.
“We’ve gone from outside and a monsoon to indoors. It will be a good challenge and we’re looking forward to getting down to Melbourne.”
It’s not just the conditions that have changed since March, with both teams having numerous changes in their line-ups.
“Their side is different to the last time we played, and that was a long time ago.”
“They (the Kangaroos) have had a really good year, no doubt.
“To the outside they’ve surprised a few. Their A-graders are really firing, Higgins has gone to a new level, and with a target like Ben Brown up front they will always be dangerous.
“The delivery has been outstanding, and they have a really strong midfield, which we knew from Round 1.
Dew expects to field a similar side to the one that lost to Collingwood last week.
“We expect to give 'Powelly' (Will Powell) another run, and Callum Ah Chee could come back into the side.”
