North Melbourne's George Wardlaw should be right to go for Saturday's game against Adelaide in Hobart, after he was managed for the Roos' Round 6 game against Hawthorn.

Wardlaw played in the senior team's opening five fixtures, averaging 16.8 disposals and 4.2 clearances per game, and snared the Rising Star nomination after he collected 23 disposals, five clearances and a goal against Fremantle in Round 2.

However the club's performance team and match committee had scheduled a strategic break to avoid overloading the onballer, given his injury issues as his body has developed over his draft year and his first season at North Melbourne.

Second-year utility Brayden George has raised his hand for an AFL debut after collecting 19 touches off half-back in the VFL team's loss to Box Hill.

Fellow rebounder Riley Hardeman could also be a chance to play his first senior game for the club if Alastair Clarkson and the match committee opt to make some changes to the senior side's backline.

After kicking two goals from his seven touches against Box Hill, high-flying Finnbar Maley could be considered as a tall forward option.

The rookie draftee is capable of hitting the scoreboard and taking a massive grab, which he displayed again over the weekend.

Hugh Greenwood laid a game-high 12 tackles and kicked a goal for the reserves and poses as a potential inclusion given his ability to win the ball at the source and chip-in as a makeshift ruck.

Miller Bergman (14 disposals, one goal) made a successful return from a fractured jaw via the VFL and is a small/medium defensive alternative, while lockdown defender Jackson Archer's inclusion may also be pondered.

Forward Eddie Ford will face a fitness test ahead of selection on Thursday night after suffering a blow to his hip in a collision against the Hawks.

If he's unavailable, the Roos may look to recall Jaidyn Stephenson or bring in pacey small Robert Hansen jnr for a season debut.
