North Melbourne defender Miller Bergman and forward Cooper Harvey will both miss a chunk of the season after picking up injuries in the VFL team's season-opening win against the Northern Bullants.
Harvey went down in the final minutes of the opening quarter at Arden Street on Saturday afternoon, when an opponent fell across his ankle after a marking contest.
The young forward is expected to miss six weeks of action.
"Cooper was removed from the game and placed in a moon boot as a conservative management approach," North Melbourne head of performance Kevin White told NMFC Media.
"Scans have since revealed a moderate syndesmosis and (Cooper) will have surgery on Tuesday."
Joining Harvey on the sidelines is Miller Bergman, who suffered a fractured jaw from an Bullants player's shoulder during his 29-disposal outing.
"After pulling up sore post-game and subsequent swelling of the face later on Saturday evening, medical staff took Miller for scans which revealed a fracture," White said.
"He'll have surgery Tuesday and have plates inserted. He'll be looking at a return to play timeframe of 4-6 weeks which will become clearer post-surgery."
