Collingwood defender Jack Frost is considered a good chance of lining up against North Melbourne on Saturday.
Frost was substituted out of the Magpies' win over the Gold Coast after suffering a corked hamstring, but has made a strong recovery.
"We were hoping that it was only a corked hamstring and it appears that it is, it’s not a strain, and we’re very confident that he will be able to play this week," Collingwood Director of Football Neil Balme told the club's website.
"He will be tested, but we’re pretty sure that he will get up."
The availability of Frost will be vital as the Magpies look to quell the influence of North's key forwards, including Drew Petrie and Jarrad Waite.
Collingwood is also confident of regaining Alan Toovey (jarred knee) for the MCG clash.
"He (Toovey) feels good so this week – today and tomorrow – he will train so we’re pretty confident that he will also be available this week," Balme said.
"Naturally we will test him but he will be pretty good chance of being available."
