Veteran Ellie Gavalas will return to strengthen the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos' forward line ahead of Sunday's trip to face Adelaide at Norwood Oval.

Gavalas, 27, has been named to play her seventh AFLW game this season, having been dropped from the side after the Round 6 win over Fremantle.

Youngster Ruby Tripodi makes way this week.

Both sides will be hungry to get back on the winners list on Sunday following setbacks last weekend.

The Crows lost to Brisbane while North Melbourne struggled to break down the Demons' defence at Ikon Park.

The Roos could bounce back into the top two if they topple the Crows, while a loss could end their chances of hosting a qualifying final with one game of the home-and-away season remaining.
