With players, coaches and staff united in Utah at the palacious Stein Eriksen Lodge in Deer Valley Utah, the altitude camp can now begin.

It was a long trip for most of the players after departing Melbourne on Friday with up to a ten hour stop-over in Los Angeles making it a taxing journey.

Half of the group decided to travel to Hollywood and soak in some of the sights and sounds while waiting for their connecting flight to Salt Lake City.

When they finally arrived at their final destination, it was time to get some much needed rest and acclimatise, but it was easier for some than others.  Drew Petrie struggled to get any shuteye with roommate Andrew Swallow keeping him very much awake.

On his Twitter account (@drewpetrie20) the vice-captain said, "Body clock all out of whack.  It's 3.40am in Utah and I'm staring at the ceiling listening to my roomy @andrewswallow snore."

Youngster Tom Curran suffered similar with Max Warren.

After being afforded time to settle in and rest, the challenges are set to start.

It's Sunday morning in Utah and the Roos will embark on a 4-hour hike up the snowy mountains of Deer Valley.

kangaroos.com.au will have all the latest videos, pictures and articles from the three week camp.
