North Melbourne is heading back to Ballarat for the fifth consecutive time for its Australia Post AFL Community Camp.

The entire playing list will be in Ballarat on the 11th and 12th of February next year to conduct a range of activities in the local area from football clinics to meet and greet opportunities at community centres and local businesses.

Interim CEO Cam Vale says the club is looking forward to another Ballarat camp.

“Community camp is always a fantastic time to give back to our supporters and strengthen the relationship we have with Ballarat which is a regional area of growth for us," Vale said.

“We put in a request each year to have our camp in Ballarat and the AFL are very supportive of this. That is pretty clear since we are returning for the fifth year in a row.”

North’s strong ties to the Ballarat community extend through its VFL alignment with the North Ballarat Roosters as well as the North in Schools program which the Kangaroos delivered in twenty-three primary schools across the region in 2012.

“We have a great level of support from the people of Ballarat at all levels and our membership numbers in the area just continue to rise with more than 450 members in 2012 alone.”

To coincide with Community Camp, the Kangaroos will play an intra-club match at Eureka Stadium on the Tuesday to prepare the players for the upcoming NAB Cup competition.

“The coaches and players really look forward to the practice match and a lot of our supporters come from far and wide to watch as we gear up for another season.

“We’re really looking forward to getting back to Ballarat once again.”
