The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos have made one change to the side that was victorious in Fremantle, with young Irishwoman Niamh Martin brought in to make her League debut.
Martin was signed by the Kangaroos in March after her speed, agility and competitive nature captured the attention of the Kangaroos’ recruiters while playing Gaelic Football for Tipperary.
The 22-year-old learned she would play her first AFLW game this weekend during Friday’s afternoon’s team meeting, with her parents dialling in to deliver the news.
Veteran forward Ellie Gavalas has been omitted and will miss her first game of the 2023 campaign.
Star Roos Ash Riddell and Kate Shierlaw will both play their 50th AFLW games on Sunday against a Yartapuulti (Port Adelaide) outfit that has managed just one win from six rounds.
Tickets for the game can be purchased here.
