Zac Fisher has swapped navy blue for royal blue following a trade between North Melbourne and Carlton.

The Roos receive Fisher and pick No.17 in the 2023 AFL Draft from Carlton, while parting with this year’s picks No.21 (from the AFL assistance package) and 25.

Fisher has played 107 games and kicked 53 goals since he made his debut in Round 4, 2017.

The 25-year-old enjoyed his most productive season to date in 2022, when he featured in all 22 games and doubled his career-best tally in front of goal while also spending more time in the midfield.

He only managed 12 games in 2023 but sent a strong reminder of his talent when he averaged 27 disposals while deployed off half-back during the last month of the home-and-away season.

North Melbourne general manager of football Todd Viney said the quick and versatile former Blue would be a great addition to the club.

"Zac has shown the versatility to play several roles across his 107 games, including as a small forward, off half-back and through the midfield," Viney said.

"His speed and decision making with ball in hand will be a great addition to our club.

"We look forward to welcoming him into the club."

Fisher is the second player to land at Arden Street during the Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period, joining former Swan Dylan Stephens, who the Roos landed earlier on Wednesday.

North Melbourne now holds four picks inside the top 20 (No.2, 3, 15 and 17) in the 2023 AFL Draft, as well as picks No.56 and 64.
