The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos will make the short trip to the Apple Isle again for Round 4, as they look to keep their undefeated record alive.

They'll face off against the fifth-placed Lions who remain a threat in 2023 despite the loss of Emily Bates and Greta Bodey in the off-season.

Both clubs will be high on confidence after their respective Round 3 victories, making for an enticing clash at UTAS Stadium.

The opposition

The Lions enter Round 4 following a complete rout of the Swans at Brighton Homes Arena, with the home side coming away with a 55-point triumph.

Reigning League best-and-fairest winner Ally Anderson was at her ball-winning best with 27 disposals and seven inside 50s, while Courtney Hodder and hard-running winger Sophie Conway booted three goals each.

Although Brisbane currently sits on the periphery of the top four with a 2-1 record, it has managed to defeat the Roos in each of the three meetings the clubs have had in the AFLW's short history.

The in-form Roo

Jasmine Garner

The AFLW coaches' votes tell you all you need to know about how dominant Garner has been from the opening bounce in Round 1 to the final siren in Round 3.

The premier onballer has polled 30 out of a possible 30 AFLCA AFLW Champion Player of the Year Award votes, becoming just the second player in competition history to achieve the feat.

She'll travel to Tasmania fresh off tallying 32 disposals, 12 clearances, 12 tackles, nine inside 50s, and a goal against flag contenders Geelong.

Last time we met

North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos 3.8 (26) def. by Brisbane 5.3 (33), Round 7, 2022 S7

As the push for finals ramped up, the Roos were made to rue their missed opportunities in Round 7 last season, as they fell to the Lions by seven points at Arden Street Oval.

North Melbourne was in control of the contest for large portions of the clash, but inaccuracy down forward left the door ajar for Craig Starcevich's group which managed to grind out a tough win.

Garner and Emma Kearney were influential for the home side with 21 and 19 possessions respectively, while Brisbane's Anderson collected game-highs for disposals (24) and clearances (seven).
