A senior debut, a Rising Star nomination, third in Werribee’s best and fairest and now the club’s Best Young Player; it’s been a memorable year for Ryan Clarke.
The midfielder arrived at Arden Street with plenty of expectation after being selected with pick 31 in the 2015 National Draft, and he was quick to impress.
One of the Roos’ standouts in the pre-season, he carried that form into the regular season with VFL affiliate Werribee.
After knocking on the door for several weeks, Clarke earnt a call-up to the Roos’ team in Round 16, and just three weeks later received a Rising Star nomination.
He played six AFL games, amassing 20-plus disposals on three occasions.
Clarke was recognised as the club’s Best Young Player for 2016 at North’s Syd Barker Club Champion Dinner on Friday night.
