Carlton has suffered injuries to two important players, ruling them out of Friday night's clash with North Melbourne.

Kade Simpson's run of 158 consecutive games will end after he suffered a broken jaw in a collision with Sharrod Wellingham in the third quarter of the clash against Collingwood.

The midfielder collected 24 possessions last time he played North and was damaging with his run and carry.

Shaun Hampson will also be missing due to a knee injury which has ruled him out for the rest of the season. He suffered the damage early in the game and his absence leaves Carlton with one less key position forward for the likes of Eddie Betts and Jeff Garlett to work off.
