North Melbourne has named its extended line-up for Sunday afternoon's clash with Melbourne at Blundstone Arena in Hobart.

Club champion Ben Cunnington rejoins the AFL squad after a team-high nine clearances in the reserves' loss to Werribee last weekend.

Cunnington, who has not played at AFL level since Round 8, was among the Roos' best last time they played the Demons, gathering 27 touches and a goal on a difficult night at the MCG.

Third-year player Charlie Lazzaro is a chance to play his fourth senior match this season after also being named on the extended bench. Lazzaro was a late withdrawal against the Saints in Round 19 due to back tightness, but he showed his fitness with 23 disposals and six inside 50s in the VFL.

Young gun Tom Powell is this week's third inclusion, with no omissions from last weekend's loss to West Coast in Perth.

The final 22-player team will be confirmed on Friday at 5pm AEST.
