Jy Simpkin has been ruled out of North Melbourne's Round 18 clash with Hawthorn, after the Roos co-captain suffered a delayed concussion against Geelong on Sunday.
The midfielder didn't take the field in the second half after he copped a head knock in a collision with teammate Nick Larkey and Geelong's Esava Ratugolea in the second quarter.
It will mark the second instance this season that the two-time Syd Barker Medallist has missed a game due to concussion.
"Jy had a knock to his jaw that caused a delayed concussion over the half-time period," head of performance Kevin White told NMFC Media.
"Given the fact he's now had two concussions in the space of four or five weeks, we'll be a little bit slower and more cautious with his return to training."

As revealed on Monday, Griffin Logue has ruptured his ACL and will miss the rest of the 2023 campaign and a chunk of next season.
"He'll go in for surgery next week once the swelling subsides but at the minute, he's in a positive mindset and is attacking the rehab to the best of his ability," he said.
"He's had huge support from the players and staff around the club so we wish him well."
Draftee George Wardlaw missed his first game on Sunday since his debut in Round 10, having been withdrawn prior to the bounce.
White says that the club chose to be careful with the young midfielder, after illness limited his preparation.
"George had the flu last week so he missed the first three days at the club, then on Thursday through main training he reported to the doctor at the end of the session that he was feeling fatigued, flat and sore," he mentioned.
"Given the interruption of his week, and the interruption across pre-season, we took the conservative approach.
"He's feeling much better today (Tuesday) and he'll look to progress into main training this week and put his hand up for selection."
Veteran Liam Shiels is "tracking well" in his recovery from a calf/plantaris issue and is trending towards training with the main group on Thursday, but Tom Powell (knee/ITB) remains a couple of weeks off.
"It didn't quite go as expected last week in terms of getting through running and transitioning through to the football program," White recalled.
"Tom's plan at the minute will be to offload from running until the end of the week, reload running next week, and then the following week look to merge back into the football program."
Defender Aaron Hall started strongly in the VFL match against the Cats on Sunday night, but wouldn't add to his five possessions due to an Achilles complaint.
He faces a test to prove his fitness for Sunday's dual AFL and VFL matchday.
"From the pre-season Aaron's had on-going Achilles tendinopathy, where week to week through training sessions and games, it may take time to warm-up and get going and he just found it difficult in that game down in Geelong to get the same quality of movement with that Achilles."
"He was clearly restricted in terms of his running and his movement, and he just felt that he wasn't at the point that he could push past the pain in that game."
