Forward Nick Larkey closed the gap to top spot in the North Melbourne leaderboard for the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award, picking up three more coaches' votes in Sunday's loss to Greater Western Sydney in Hobart.
Larkey has 19 votes for the season, two votes behind injured midfielder Luke Davies-Uniacke, who remains top of the North Melbourne leaderboard despite having played just seven games to date.
Roo Tarryn Thomas earned his first vote this year after kicking three goals to go with 19 disposals against the Giants.
Kangaroos interim senior coach Brett Ratten and Giants coach Adam Kingsley judged Giants pair Kieren Briggs and Toby Greene the best on ground, awarding them nine votes each.
Larkey's four goals against the Giants takes his season tally to 36.
He is fourth in the race for the Coleman Medal behind Taylor Walker and Jeremy Cameron (both 38 goals) and leader Charlie Curnow (40).
