North Melbourne's match committee will search for strength in the contest when they convene in the lead-up to the Roos' Round 13 game against Greater Western Sydney.

Midfielders Jy Simpkin and Hugh Greenwood have "presented well" after they sustained head knocks in Sunday's first and second quarters, respectively.

Both will sit out this weekend under the league's concussion protocols, however.

The team will wait on Luke Davies-Uniacke for another week as he regains his acceleration and speed following a hamstring injury sustained in Round 9.

The vacuum in the centre has tilted the door ajar for club champion Ben Cunnington, who last played at senior level in Round 8.

Cunnington collected 23 disposals, seven tackles and six clearances in the Roos reserves' 11-point win over Essendon on Sunday.

The 31-year-old has averaged 23.8 disposals, nine clearances and 3.8 tackles over a month with the twos, and will be hungry to resume his 237-game AFL career.

He's going to be extremely close … he's a good player, and with our captain out he'll be right in the mix.

Utility Daniel Howe (30 disposals, nine clearances, six tackles) is never far away from the senior team, and would offer the coaches flexibility if selected.

Charlie Lazzaro kicked a goal to spark the Roos' late three-goal run, and complement his 25 disposals and seven tackles.

Up forward, Paul Curtis responded to his omission from the senior team with a competitive seven tackles and two goals.

Key pillar Aidan Corr put in a characteristic shift with 17 disposals and four marks on the last line, and can play both ball-winner and interceptor if he is to win a call-up.

Dashing defender Flynn Perez was also among the reserves' best with 23 disposals, four marks, four tackles and his first goal of the season.
