Brad Scott will face more selection dilemmas this week with Robbie Tarrant and Jamie Macmillan making successful returns for Werribee.

Despite the Tigers falling short in Simon Atkins' final game as coach, there were promising signs from North's young representatives.

Tarrant was (21 possessions, 6 marks) back in the side after four weeks out with a broken thumb and was a little rusty in the early stages according to development coach Jason Lappin.

"He was a bit off with his ball handling and disposal in the first half but was one of the team's better performers after half-time playing down back and on a wing. He gave the side a lot of drive and ran really well."

Macmillan (24 possessions, 4 spoils) had his hands full with dangerous forward's Brad Miller and Matthew Bate in goal-kicking form for the Scorpions, but the 18 year-old certainly held his own. If he’s picked for North’s round 22 clash, he may end up playing on Bate or Miller again.

"Jamie looked sharp after returning from injury. He was able to get plenty of the footy and worked hard all day. He was really good defensively as well. It was a pleasing effort after his time in the AFL," Lappin added.

Ben Speight (11 possessions) had another day he'd rather forget, fracturing his clavicle after an otherwise promising start to the game. Earlier in the year the promising youngster sustained a broken jaw.

"He was on fire in the first quarter with his speed and precise kicking, highlighted by a terrific running goal.

"It was really unfortunate when he copped a heavy bump and had to go off injured early in the second quarter."

Alan Obst (13 possessions) celebrated his 50th game for the Tigers with another solid performance, but Nathan O'Keefe (10 possessions, 1 goal) was starved of opportunities in attack.

Matthew Scott (30 possessions, 4 clearances) earned plenty of praise from the coaching staff for his performances in the reserves' 140 point win.

"He was a class above around stoppages and gave other midfielders first use with his precise handball. He handled his demotion to the reserves extremely well and was best on ground."

It was a similar story for Majak Daw (13 possessions, 8 hit-outs, 3 goals), with the Sudanese rookie again impressing.

"Majak played as a key forward in the first half and was a prominent target. He then moved into the ruck and combined with Matthew Scott to prove a dominant combination."

Conor Meredith (22 possessions) also won plenty of the footy, while Ayden Kennedy (22 possessions, 5 marks) was a pillar of strength in defence.

"Ayden had a solid game repelling the oppositions' attacks consistently with clean ball handling and excellent disposal."

Scott, Meredith, Kennedy and O'Keefe will all be in action on Saturday as Werribee plays Coburg in the reserves first elimination final. North Melbourne supporters are encouraged to attend the game at Teac Oval from 11.00am to get behind the future of the club.
