Key defenders Ben McKay and Griffin Logue will enter the selection mix for Saturday's clash with the Lions, with the pair to return from bone stress and suspension respectively.

McKay was unavailable for the first four rounds of the season, while Logue played in the first three before he received a one-match ban for a bump on Hawthorn's Will Day.

Their inclusion would be a major boost for the Kangaroos who are yet to have both of their primary tall backmen line up together in a contest for premiership points.

After making his return from a plantar fascia issue in the VFL last weekend, Callum Coleman-Jones could be a potential replacement for Nick Larkey, who copped a stray elbow to the hip in the Good Friday SuperClash against Carlton.

Coleman-Jones opened the scoring with a goal from close range against Carlton's reserves side at Arden Street, and finished with 14 touches, 14 hitouts and four clearances.

Larkey, who has slotted 12 goals from four outings, went through a light session on Tuesday and will need to pass a fitness test on Thursday if he is to take part in Gather Round.

Miller Bergman will hope to return to the line-up, the half-back having been withdrawn an hour before the bounce on Friday after he picked up an illness.

The 20-year-old played in the first three matches of the season, and could reclaim his spot depending on the route Alastair Clarkson and the match committee decide to go down.

Fellow young defender Flynn Perez raised his hand for selection with a team-high 29 disposals in the VFL, and veteran Aaron Hall (25 disposals, nine rebound 50s) continued to present his case for a season debut.

Draftee George Wardlaw will continue to build his match conditioning in the reserves as he edges closer to a senior call-up. In his third game at VFL level the No.4 pick finished with 15 disposals, six clearances and a goal.
