Andrew Swallow was one of few who could hold his head up high after Sunday's loss to Collingwood, and it has been reflected in the coaches votes for Round 1.

The North Melbourne captain collected 34 disposals, 7 clearances and 9 tackles in 85 percent game time to undoubtedly lead his team and has been rewarded with six votes from Brad Scott and Nathan Buckley in the coaches votes.

Last season Swallow led all North players in the count and seems to be well on his way to repeating the feat.

Looking forward to Sunday's clash with Geelong, Brent Harvey, Jack Ziebell, Ryan Bastinac and Daniel Wells all polled in last year's clash. While Harvey will be absent for this week's match, North will be looking to the remaining trio for strong games at Etihad Stadium.
