The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos are pleased to announce 25 players have re-signed ahead of the 2023 AFLW season.
North Melbourne captain and seven-time All-Australian Emma Kearney will pull on the blue and white stripes for a sixth season, along with reigning club champion Jasmine Garner and fellow inaugural Roos Ashleigh Riddell, Nicole Bresnehan, Emma King, Jenna Bruton, Tahlia Randall, and Danielle Hardiman.
The future of the club has also been locked away with rising stars Mia King, Erika O’Shea, Isabella Eddey, Alice O’Loughlin and Taylah Gatt all recommitting to the club.
North Melbourne AFLW football performance and talent manager Rhys Harwood expressed the club’s excitement to retain the majority of the playing group.
“We are thrilled to see this significant commitment to North Melbourne, particularly given the reality of player movement across the competition throughout the priority signing and sign and trade periods,” he said.
“We have been deliberate in managing some higher levels of player turnover over the past few seasons and feel as though this playing group will continue to drive high standards of performance both on and off the field as we build on the foundations we set in Season 7.
“We look forward to coming together as a group when pre-season kicks off and continuing to improve in preparation for Season 8.”
The 25 re-signed Roos will be joined in Season 8 by new recruits Kate Shierlaw, Lucinda Pullar, Eliza Shannon and ruck Elizabeth McGrath.
